Capital Arts Patrons’ Organisation (CAPO) announced the winners of 24 awards in its 40th annual Grants round at the CAPO Awards Night, held on Wednesday 25th October at Government House.
The awards were presented by His Excellency, General the Honourable David Hurley and Her Excellency Mrs Linda Hurley, the CAPO Patron, Bree Pickering, Director, National Portrait Gallery and the awards’ respective sponsors. The CAPO Awards provide financial and in-kind support for a range of new arts projects by emerging and established artists.

Capital Arts Patrons’ Organisation (CAPO) announced the winners of 22 awards in its 39th Annual Grants Round at the CAPO Awards Night, on Thursday 24th November at Canberra Contemporary Art Space in Parkes.
The awards were presented by Trent Birkett, Acting Director, National Portrait Gallery and the awards’ respective sponsors. The CAPO Awards provide financial and in-kind support for a range of new arts projects by emerging and established artists.

Since its establishment in 1983, CAPO, a volunteer non-profit organisation, has disbursed more than $3 million in arts fellowships and awards funded by auction sales and sponsorship from arts and business communities in Canberra.

Canberra Contemporary Art Space will again host CAPO’s 2021 Auction Gala on 30 October. Live performances and CAPO’s legendary food and local wines will accompany the silent and live art auctions. The exclusive 2021 edition of CAPO’s handsome auction catalogue will be provided to ticket holders and the announcement of the CAPO Fellow for 2021 will be a highlight of the evening.

Canberra artists invited to apply for near $60,000 in CAPO grants
When you can claim a 40-year successful run on the local arts stage, chances are you’re doing something right.
Last year, the Canberra Arts Patrons Organisation (CAPO) celebrated such a milestone, supporting hundreds of grassroots individuals and organisations that often found themselves overshadowed by the larger arts institutions that are based in Canberra.

Increased support helps local artists achieve their dreams
‘A messy scrub’ isn’t a phrase you would typically associate with something beautiful, but for Canberra artist Paul Summerfield, it’s the title of his latest artistic creation.
Paul’s vibrant work, created using software, was sold at the annual Capital Arts Patrons Organisation (CAPO) auction in November 2023.
