DescriptioCapital Arts Patrons’ Organisation (CAPO) announced the winners of 22 awards in its 39th Annual Grants Round at the CAPO Awards Night, on Thursday 24th November at Canberra Contemporary Art Space in Parkes.

The awards were presented by Trent Birkett, Acting Director, National Portrait Gallery and the awards’ respective sponsors. The CAPO Awards provide financial and in-kind support for a range of new arts projects by emerging and established artists.

The Capital Arts Patrons’ Organisation (CAPO) is excited to launch its 2022 season featuring a record 21 annual awards.

Since its establishment in 1983, CAPO, a volunteer non-profit organisation, has disbursed more than $3 million in arts fellowships and awards funded by auction sales and sponsorship from arts and business communities in Canberra.

Canberra Contemporary Art Space will again host CAPO’s 2021 Auction Gala on 30 October. Live performances and CAPO’s legendary food and local wines will accompany the silent and live art auctions. The exclusive 2021 edition of CAPO’s handsome auction catalogue will be provided to ticket holders and the announcement of the CAPO Fellow for 2021 will be a highlight of the evening.
